Student of the Week!

This week's Students of the Week are:

Steven Smallwood
Nominated by: Mrs. Belfrom

Stephen Smallwood is being nominated for Student of the Week because he shows integrity,  he perseveres and he is responsible.  Stephen shows integrity every day in the classroom and in the halls by doing what he needs to do without being told.  I can count on Stephen to do the right thing, whether a teacher is present or not. He even encourages his friends and classmates to make good decisions. Stephen perseveres through his work, even when it is challenging.  He never complains about completing assignments and he asks for help when it is needed.   He actively participates in class and helps others when he can.  Stephen is a responsible and mature young man.  He turns in assignments on time, seeks out teachers when he is absent and he is prepared for class daily.  Stephen comes to school ready to learn each and every day.  He wants to do well in class and on the football field.  I can count on Stephen to come to school with a smile on his face and a determination to succeed.
Jake Curry
Nominated by: Mrs. Craver and Mr. Barone
When it came to deciding who to nominate for student of the week we decided to choose Jake Curry for his good grades in multiple classes as well as his relentless work ethic. I asked other members of the junior high staff for their input on what they thought of Jake and these were some of their responses: “He holds high standards for himself and always gives it his best in the classroom,” “He is always respectful to staff and brings a lot to my classroom,” “Jake comes to class prepared with his work completed and works great with his peers.” Many of these responses were repeated multiple times by different adults throughout the building.

Given this information, Jake is an extremely hard worker and is excelling in his classes. Jake is a great individual to teach, is always engaged in his work and is always giving his best. Thank you Jake for being so hardworking, engaged and overall a great student. You are a pleasure to have in class keep up the good work!
