Goal #1: Teachers will collaborate in PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES to inform classroom instructional practices.
Goal #2: Teachers will increase FORMATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES in daily practice.
Goal #3: Teachers will improve in the DIFFERENTIATION of instruction in classrooms.

Announcements December 14-18

  • Club/Activity Picture Day is Wednesday, January 6th in the New Gym. Check with your sponsor for your group time.. Group pictures can be purchased for $12. Only students who make a payment will receive pictures. Check out the Navigator Blog for all the details.
    • Order forms will be distributed to students during Aviator bell on Monday, Jan 4th​. Extra order forms will be available in the lobby.
  • Sycamore Ice Hockey would like to invite you to.
    • Skate with the Aves  December 29 6-8 pm  Free Ice skating only $5 skate rental. At Sports plus.
  • Congratulations to the Swimming and Diving Team for sweeping both of their meets this past weekend.
    • On Friday, we beat Fairfield 96-51.  1st place finishers were: Jozy Allen in diving, Alex Hewitt in 25 fly and 50 free, Declan Skinner in 25 free, Will Rinehart in 25 Breaststroke, Keegan Veraldo in 100 IM and 100 breaststroke, Michelle Mosko in 50 fly, Maddie Humphrey in 50 back, and George Vlady in 50 breaststroke. 
    • On Saturday, we competed in a tri-meet, beating both the defending League Champions, Mariemont, 237-210 and Little Miami 254-153.  1st place finishers were:  Camryn Mather in diving, 200 medley relay of Maddie Humphrey, Sophie Campbell, Michelle Mosko, and Alex Hewitt.  Keegan Veraldo in both the 100 & 200 freestyles, Ben Berke in the 25 freestyle, Alex Hewitt in the 25 backstroke, 
    • Kyle Goodpaster in the 25 breaststroke, Declan Skinner in the 50 freestyle, Michelle Mosko in the 50 backstroke and 100 butterfly, George Vlady in the 100 backstroke, and the 200 medley relay of Veraldo, Humphrey, Megan Moreno, and Vlady.
  • The Aves take on Kings this Friday and Princeton on Saturday.  Good luck Aves Swimmers and Divers!!!
  • Congratulations to the wrestling team for finishing 2nd place at their own Sycamore Duals.  The team had several individual placers:
    • Receiving Individual 2nd place medals - Lucas Pletz, Izumi Harney, Luke Gabbard, Javi Jasper, David Gutierrez, Ronnie Washington, and James Wilkerson.
    • Receiving Individual 1st place medals - Cameron Kennedy and Russell Roaden.
  • There will be a student council meeting this Thursday from 3:15 - 5:30ish. Students are reminded to have their field trip forms.  
  • Three junior high students were involved in FIRST LEGO League, a science/robotics program, and competed in tournaments this past weekend. See http://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll for more details. All three of the students were on teams that won awards and will move on to the next level of competition. 
    • The students are:
      • - Arushi Sharma, member of Brick Geniuses, won Robot Performance Award
      • - Manny Mehta, member of Omegabots, won Championship Trophy Award
      • - Ashna Prakash, member of Brick Girls, won Robot Strategy & Innovation Award, Robot Performance Award and Runner Up for the Elimination Round
  • Get ready for some multi-colored minty goodness in the form of a candy cane. Which you can get in the cafeteria for just a dollar. You can also write a note to go with your candy cane that student council will deliver on Friday the 18th. 
  • The 7th Grade Lady Aves Gold basketball team finished off the first half of their season with a resounding 28 - 11 victory over Lakota Hopewell.
  • After a sluggish 1st half, the Lady Aves came out strong in the third quarter scoring 12 points and holding Hopewell scoreless. Emma David had a season high 12 points scoring 8 in the decisive 3rd quarter. Allie Fehr (Fair) also tossed in a season high 12 points. Everyone contributed on the defensive end and effectively executed a smothering full-court press. 
  • All 7th and 8th grade students who receive straight A's for 2nd quarter will receive TWO FREE Reds tickets for next season.  So be sure to complete your homework and study each night to achieve straight A's for 2nd quarter, and get rewarded with TWO FREE REDS TICKETS!
