8th Grade Day Information

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Our annual 8th Grade Day is scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2016. The 8th grade students and staff will leave school at approximately 9:45am for a fun day at the Blue Ash Recreation Center. Students will return at approximately 2:45pm and be released at the regular dismissal time of 3:07pm.

The 8th grade panoramic picture will be taken in the morning before we leave. The cost for this 10” x 30” picture is $22.00, plus shipping and handling. This picture will be mailed home to the students. Ordering information will follow.

Several activities are planned for this exciting day!!
  • Swimming
  • DJ
  • Photo Booth
  • Inflatables
  • Games
  • Lunch will be provided (hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, beverages, cookies, ice cream and fruit). Students may bring a packed lunch if desired, however, there is no refrigeration available. Since items will not be available to purchase while we are there, students should not bring money.

Having fun and creating positive memories are the two main objectives for this day; therefore it is worth noting that school rules are still in effect to maintain order and safety. In order to have the privilege of attending this event, students must be in good academic and behavioral standing.
Expectations were discussed at a student assembly on March 31st, which are as follows:
  • Maintain passing grades in your classes. Students with multiple failures for 4th quarter will not be permitted to attend.
  • Attend school. Students with excessive absences/tardies to school 4th quarter will not be permitted to attend.
  • Follow direction from adults. Students that are chronically noncompliant will not be permitted to attend.
  • Demonstrate respect towards others. Students that are rude or disrespectful towards others or property will not be permitted to attend.
  • Be a leader. Model excellence. Students that continue to voilate the code of conduct or demonstrate behaviors that are not outstanding examples of what a SJH student exemplifies will not be permitted to attend.
  • Students should be in good standing with the media center, having returned all books and paid overdue fines.

This is truly an exciting, fun-filled day for the students!  If you have any questions regarding the day, please feel free to call me at 686-1760.

Sincerely,

Lisa Zelvy
