Goal #1: Teachers will collaborate in PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES to inform classroom instructional practices.
Goal #2: Teachers will increase FORMATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES in daily practice.
Goal #3: Teachers will improve in the DIFFERENTIATION of instruction in classrooms.

Announcements 4/25


  • Beta Club members....if you signed up for 6th grade tours, you will have a meeting this Friday April 22 during Aviator. The meeting will be in the Cafeteria.  If you are unable to attend, stop down and see Mr. Brenner next week for the information you missed.
    • There will be a meeting on Tuesday, April 26 during aviator bell in the cafeteria to go over information for cheer tryouts in May. 
    • 7th graders wanting to join Beta Club need to bring their applications to Mrs. Nagel by Thursday, April 28. No late applications will be accepted! No exceptions!
    • Also, Builders Club, as well as Beta club members, attending Winton Hills on April 30 should see Mrs. Nagel for a permission slip by Friday.
    • Builders Club should meet with Mrs. Nagel during Aviator Bell on Friday, April 22.
  • April is National Poetry month.  Every year, Sycamore Junior High school students are invited to enter the Mikke (pronounced Mike) Drerup Poetry Contest.     Poems entered in the contest should honor this former SJHS teacher’s positive spirit-- the theme should be uplifting and inspiring.  For more information about the contest, ask your Language Arts teacher or join the Mikke Drerup Google Classroom.  The code is srzno4.
    • Deadline for the contest is this Wednesday, April 27.   
  • Students and staff, please check your email for the latest issue of The Flyer!  Only one more to go!  For the last issue, we want YOU to write it!  Please send your:
    • -favorite memories
    • -favorte teachers
    • -great photo memories
    • -best advice for rising 8th graders
    • -summer plans
    • send your entries to theflyer@sycamoreschools.org or drop them off in the media center or give them to and Flyer staff member!
  • Girls Lacrosse players - please make sure that if you're staying after school today you go immediately to Mr. James' Room (225) for Homework Club.  That ends at 4, then go change & get on the bus by 4:15...if you're going home, see you on the bus at 4:15!  
  • This week our character word is Determination.  It is defined as the act of deciding to control or achieve an outcome.  Our challenge is for you to be determined to finish the school year on a positive note.
