Goal #1: Teachers will collaborate in PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES to inform classroom instructional practices.
Goal #2: Teachers will increase FORMATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES in daily practice.
Goal #3: Teachers will improve in the DIFFERENTIATION of instruction in classrooms.

Announcements November 16-20, 2015

  • You bring the CANS you get a DANCE. Sycamore Junior High is the #1 contributor to our local food pantry and your help is needed.
    • During the week of November 16-20 bring in as many canned food items as you “can.”  This year if you bring in 4000 cans, you “can” earn the first SJH Valentine’s dance in over 5 years.
    • The Aviator Bell that has highest average of cans per person “can” do a makeover on your aviator bell teacher! Every student in the winning aviator bell "can" bring in accessories to give his/her teacher a whole new look.  
    • Help yourself by helping your community.
  • STAAND! There will be a STAAND Meeting, Wednesday, November 18 during Aviator Bell in room 221. Be prepared to report your final ideas for our next promotional project!
  • Intramural Basketball:
    • Looking for a winter sport?
    • Do you like to play basketball?
    • Intramurals are open to all Sycamore Junior High students not currently playing for the school basketball team.  Intramurals meet on Saturdays, December through January, from 12-2 in the gym.  Please attend an informational meeting on Wednesday November 18th during Aviator Bell in the cafeteria.  
  • Students! don’t forget to send your favorite colorful fall photos to the Flyer.  We will show off your photos in our next edition, November 20th.  We would prefer photos of beautiful fall color.  You can send them to theflyer@sycamoreschools.org

  • There will be a student council meeting this Thursday from 3:15-4:00.
  •  Come show your support for France at our French Club meeting this Thursday, November 19th, after school in Madame Toerpe’s room. Join Mademoiselle Hunt and other students in creating and signing a banner with well wishes for a middle school in France. Refreshments will be provided. You will need to arrange for a ride home. 
  • Homework club today will be with Mr. Stinson in room 238--this is a change.
  • Outdoor club will be slacklining here at the Jr. High on Wednesday this weekinstead of mtn. biking due to the expected weather.  Slacklining is a ton of fun and requires balance and perseverance...Come have fun from 3:15-4:15 with the Outdoor Club. WE will meet in the new gym at 3:15.
  • All girls interested in playing lacrosse in the spring, please plan on attending an Informational Meeting about playing opportunities throughout the winter this Thursday 11/19during Aviator Bell in Room 219.  See Ms. Mott if you have any questions!  
  • All 7th and 8th grade students who receive straight A's for 2nd quarter will receive TWO FREE Reds tickets for next season.  So be sure to complete your homework and study each night to achieve straight A's for 2nd quarter, and get rewarded with TWO FREE REDS TICKETS!
