Goal #1: Teachers will collaborate in PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES to inform classroom instructional practices.
Goal #2: Teachers will increase FORMATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES in daily practice.
Goal #3: Teachers will improve in the DIFFERENTIATION of instruction in classrooms.

Announcements Sept. 14-18, 2015

  • Students, 
    • We need your empty cleaned out gallon milk jugs for flight fest.  Please bring those in starting tomorrow and take them to Mr. Kinsinger's room.  His room is located in the gym hallway all the way down on the right.  
  • All Students:  The FLYER is the student written newspaper that has been absent from the JH since 2008!!.  WE want YOUR help to bring it back to life!  It will be fun, interesting and a great learning experience.  WE will meet weekly on Tuesdays in the media center. Join us for our next meeting from 3:15-4 next Tuesday!!
  • Attention all Mathletes!  The first math club meeting of the year will be held NEXT Wednesday, September 23rd AFTER school from 3:15-4:00 in Mrs. Abbas-Lee's room.  Anybody who has a passion for math is welcome to join!  If you cannot attend please see Mrs. Abbas-Lee in room 237 for information.
  • Who wants to watch the AVES take down the #5 ranked team in the state, the Fairfield Indians, on Friday night?!  If that is you, plan to bring your ticket money to recess on Friday.  Mr. Rhoads will be selling tickets - $4 for students, and $7 for adults.  Remember, it cost more at the gate on Friday night!  GO AVES!
  • Mrs. Rea this morning made an announcement about breakfast, stating we would only serve breakfast at 8:50. This time is incorrect. We are only serving breakfast, at both locations before school at 7:50. Can you add to the announcements that breakfast will only be served before school at 7:50?
  • Last night the 7th Grade GOLD Volleyball team defeated White Oak in 2 straight games.  After falling behind 10-0 in the first game the Lady Aves battled back to win behind the strong serving of Maddie Rudd.  The second game was very tight before the Lady Aves pulled out the victory with clutch serving from Raven Couch and Jayla Lewis to finish the win.  Go Lady Aves!!!!!!
  • Congratulations to the Sycamore Green tennis team on their triumph over Liberty last night! Harsitha Kalaiarasan, Mayu Fukuda, Sara Bolger,  Sophia Dick, Sarah McMullen, Alicia Luo, Akhila Durisala, Julie Ertle and Catherine Patino-Celedon have all played a part in a fabulous season of 5 wins and only 2 losses. Both Green and Gold look forward to competing at the GMC tournament in just a few short weeks to bring the trophy home to Sycamore for, yet, another year! Congrats on the season so far, ladies!!
  • Attention all GIRLS and BOYS interested in playing BASKETBALL this year.  We will have a mandatory Players AND Parents meeting on Thursday, October 8th.  The Girls Meeting will be at 6:00 and the Boys at 7:00.  Both meetings will take place in the Media Center.  We will discuss the expectations of the Basketball Program, the tryout process, and the tryout and practice schedule.  Please make sure that if you are serious about playing basketball this season, that you have everything signed on Final Forms, and that you attend this meeting with an adult family member. 
  • Congratulations to the 8th Grade Gold volleyball team on their victory over Mason Wednesday night. It was a collective team effort in the win, against a tough conference rival.  The team is currently 6-2 and will travel to White Oak today.  Good luck ladies!
