Goal #1: Teachers will collaborate in PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES to inform classroom instructional practices.
Goal #2: Teachers will increase FORMATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES in daily practice.
Goal #3: Teachers will improve in the DIFFERENTIATION of instruction in classrooms.

Announcements Sept. 8-11


  • There will be a Builders Club meeting in room 133 next Wednesday during Aviator bell. All 8th grade members and new 7th grade members are invited.
  • We still collect Box Tops and Pipkens receipts here at the Jr.High, Box top box is in front lobby and Pipkens receipts box is on the front desk to the right of Mrs. Knue.  Please bring in your box tops by September 18th, our first mailing, of 2 this year, goes out September 22nd. 
  • Interested in participating in this years Science Fair?  There will be an informational meeting held in the Media Center on Wednesday, September 16 immediately following announcements. 
  • Breakfast is now served through third bell at our second location by the gym AND the main cafeteria. Items are grab n go so you can get to class
  • Calling all BOYS!
    • If you like to perform, if you like to sing, if you like to be a part of something that is a “winning team” think about joining the Sycamore Boy Choir. Any SJH young man is eligible to join – no audition necessary!
    • The Sycamore Junior High Boy choir will hold open membership rehearsals Thursday, Sept. 10 and Thursday, Sept. 17 for the 2015-2016 school year.  After September 17, membership for the year will be closed.   
    • All rehearsals begin PROMPTLY at 7:15 a.m. and end at 7:55 a.m.
    • Boys attending Boy Choir are to be dropped off at the rear entrance to the building – NOT the front entrance!
    • DONUTS are the unofficial mascot for our group!  
    • Any questions, see Mr. Callahan or Mrs. Stein in Room 105.
  • If you're interested in being a positive peer and role model as well as having fun, come be an aviator buddy!! Miss Endreola is looking for students to come down and hang out in her classroom during Aviator bell to play games, xbox, talk and do other fun activities.  This is similar to Partner's club and Booker's buddies at Greene with which some of you may be familiar.  If you are interested or want to learn more about it, come talk to Miss Endreola during aviator bell in room 100.
  • All Flight Fest Student Committee Members - Friendly reminder that our second after-school meeting is TODAY, Thursday 9/3 in the Media Center until 4:30 pm.  Please arrange a ride to pick you up by the courtyard gates at 4:30! If you didn't make it to our first meeting last week, you can still join us...We need all the help we can get!  See Mrs. Zelvy or Ms. Mott if you have any questions or cannot make it but still want to be involved.  Hope to see you there! 
  • Congratulations to both 7th and 8th grade GOLD volleyball teams on their victories over Bridgetown last night.  Seventh grade won fairly easy with the tough serving from Gabby Pereda and overall play by Madelyn Rudd.  8th grade won a tough battle in 3 games with strong serving from Jessica Schadd and relentless leadership from Lauren Pratt.  Both Gold teams are on the road today at Fairfield.  Good Luck lady Aves!! 
  • Attention Students.  We will be selling Pre-Sale tickets again this week forFriday night's Varsity Football game vs. Trotwood Madison.  Tickets are $4 for students and $7 for adults for Pre-Sale.
  • Students- If you bought a ticket for last week's game and you STILL HAVE IT, you can use that ticket for this week's game.  If you discarded your ticket, you will have to buy a new one this week.
  • There will be an "informational" meeting for anyone who might be interested in joining the staff of The Flyer, Sycamore Junior High's very own student written newspaper, on 
    • ​Tuesday, 9-15
    •  from 3:15-4 in the media center.  Do you like to write? Do you like to take photos?  Are you creative? Would you be a good investigative reporter?  The newspaper staff might be for you!  See you ​Tuesday!  Make sure you have a ride home at 4pm.
